IT’s almost that time

It’s almost Thanksgiving now and we’ve been hard at work on new material for the last year. We wrote and recorded a brand new album, and we are currently listening to the masters and drinking too much coffee as usual. And tomorrow we will ship Corvair’s third Christmas song in a row, “I Believe in Christmas.” This last year has been strange and tragic and wonderful and hard. We spent a lot of time in nature, a lot of time writing songs on the couch, and a lot of time trying to figure out what kind of life is the right kind of life to have at this moment in history. As always, art and music feels like an act of hope and defiance, a willingness to feel things that we are being seduced not to feel, with the mountain of distractions that modern humans wade through daily. It’s sort of funny and apt that we are closing out the year with a childlike insistence that magic is real. We still believe in Christmas anyway. We really do.
